(Katie and her 5-year old son Chase, live in the very northwest corner of Ohio... in a small town called Montpelier. A little town of about 4,000. They live very both the Indiana and Michigan borders . They are just back from a three-day trip to Chicago).
Dear M.......,
Chicago was wonderful. Chase had a lovely time. His favorite attraction was the Field Museum of Natural History. He was amazed by Sue -the dinosaur. It is the largest and most complete example of a T-Rex ever found. He loves dinosaurs, so this was of particular interest to him. He brought home several souvenirs from his trip and was so excited to go to school today to tell all of his friends about his stay in Chicago.
We also went to The Museum of Science and Industry and saw the Titanic . It was extraordinary. They had a 13 ton piece of the ship's on display, a large number of that were retrieved from the . They had recreated several sections of the ship, including the grand staircase. It was like going back in time. Amazing !
We visited the Adler Planetarium... because Chase loves anything space and planetary exploration. He enjoyed that. And, the Sears Tower, which used to be the tallest building in the world until two buildings were constructed in Malaysia that are a bit taller... but the highest occupied floor of the Sears Tower is higher than those in Malaysia. The observation deck is on the 109th floor, I believe. The view is spectacular, of course. Chicago is such a lovely city, anyway (the third largest city in the U.S., by the way). We also took a boat tour of the city from Navy Pier, which was beautiful. Oh, and I took him to FAO Schwarz, the famous toy . He loved shopping there, but was less than with any other shopping that we did. :-)
I tried to choose dining that he would most enjoy. He most enjoyed the Rainforest Café, which is very cool. It looks identical to a tropical rainforest. The walls are aquariums and there are plants and and tropical flowers all over, and animals like gorillas, tigers, parrots, etc. It was fun. Very humid, .
It was a very good trip. I am so glad that Chase enjoyed it. He already says that he thinks we should move to Chicago. He's destined to be a city boy, I think. He likes living, like his Mommy. :)
Anyway... how was your weekend ? Busy preparing for work, it seems.
Well, I still have to . Let me know when you are most likely to be caught and I will make a sincere effort to find you.
Love,
Katie
